We are finally in Istanbul, the expedition is about to START!
Over the last 12 days, we drove close to 5.000kms on what we can only consider "a 12-day connection flight".
If you are following Tea2Wine from the beginning, you might know that our plan was to ship the bikes to Istanbul, however, we could not find means of shipping that would be within our budget, and that forced us to make other arrangements. At some point, we decided that if we were going to drive, we would drive the entire thing!
That decision took us through 11 countries on a huge array of emotions, ideas, thoughts, and misfortunes.
From the - to us - known European roads and customs to the first big cultural shock in Albania, to the immensity of Istanbul, with only 1 rest day since the beginning, we are a bit overwhelmed with all the road had to offer, but we are finally in Istanbul, the first big stop that will allow us to rest and plan our trip to the north of Turkey in search of the famous Turkish tea plantations.
For now, we need to find a way to fix our main camera lens that broke on a fall, the action cameras that stopped working with the cold, and get ourselves ready for the road ahead.
